Entertainment Tonight这个访问估计一开始是问Gale对于QAF引起的争议，他本身是怎样看待的。
For me it’s absolutely no exerting, because, I mean it’s a personal thing too, I’d like to be a part of the project that, you know, they either inspire people, or they force people to react. Because that’s what art is all about, is revealing the truth to people. I think there would definitely be backlash. Whether or not there’ll be backlash, we got us some what people’s reaction was, there’s one thing that’s not gonna change, that is that this show is all about truth and freedom. The truth is that, we don’t see our world as it is, we haven’t yet. And the context in this show, what this show has what we haven’t seen before, the truth that hasn’t been seen the reality that hasn’t been seen. And the freedom, we hope, which would result in that, is that people can watch versions of themselves, living the life they live, completely 100% true. And when you can do that for someone, or someone, through what you’re doing has the ability to see themselves, completely reveal… the exhilarating moments and the triumphs as well as the struggle. Because it’s not just about the struggle, it is not just about, you know, the moaning state of life style, it’s not focus on…. This isn’t about trying to explain the way… the stereotypes in American public holds, and nothing the world holds. It’s a difficult subject, you know what it is not all misery, and this is what this show is saying, we’re gonna celebrate our characters, and to show that they’re indomitable you know, because they don’t know anything bad, the writing doesn’t know anything bad, you’re never going to see one part of the character and not see the part that make that character able to stand up when they have been knocked down or not able to reach out when someone else has been knocked down.
对于我来说影响不大……因为, 这其中也有个人的原因，我喜欢参与这样的工作，它们能启发人们，或者迫使人们作出反应。这就是艺术，它向人们揭露真相。我想反对（QAF这部剧）的声音肯定会有的。无论人们是支持还是反对，我们都得到了人们的（对QAF）的反馈，而有一样东西始终不会变的，就是QAF是关于真相，和自由。我们还没有看到这个世界最真实的一面。而QAF所展现的就是我们从来没有见过的真相和现实。我们希望人们可以通过QAF看到自己，看到自己正在过的100％真实的生活。当你（做这份工作）可以让人们反思，或者学会反思……（镜头跳转）生活中的美好欢乐和挣扎。然而这并不完全是关于挣扎的故事，QAF不是在（为同性恋者）申诉叫苦，这不是它的出发点……它也不是要去解释或树立起美国同性恋者的形象。这是个棘手的主题，但你知道它不是神秘莫测的。QAF正是要表达这个……我们要为里面的角色喝彩，表现他们顽强的一面。角色是客观的，情节也是同样客观，你会看到一个角色坚强的一面，还有坚强背后他们是怎样成长起来的一面，或者是他们互相扶助成长过来的故事。
