Spain’s New Conservative Government May Kill Off Marriage Equality
Same-sex marriage in Spain has been legal since July 3, 2005. But now that the country’s shitty economy has allowed Spain’s conservative Popular Party to win 186 of the 350 parliament seats in yesterday’s landslide elections, Prime Minister-elect Mariano Rajoy has the votes he needs to execute his plan of overturning the nation’s marriage equality law.
