Synopsis

This B-movie harkens back to the dark days of Hollywood when the gay character killed himself before film's end.

Review

Spent is the tale of a gambling addict man (London) in love with an alcoholic woman. They careen from crises to crises stumbling through a crappy relationship and a lack of a career by pure luck in search of their respective bottoms.

The very cute Jason London plays the gambling leading man, and he has a gay male roommate who doesn't know he's gay. He is seen throughout the film swooning over his roommate. When he is confronted with the reality of his sexuality he withdraws to his room and sometime later he hangs himself.

This movie is a disaster on all fronts;
it's homophobic and not a worthy effort.
